Award Policy

EurasiaMUN puts special emphasis on an exceptionally realistic simulation of the United Nations to offer delegates an intensive opportunity for learning. Each delegate is expected to put aside his or her own political views and opinions during session, and accurately represent the official policy of his or her assigned country. Nevertheless, EurasiaMUN beliefs that co-operation and understanding are the key to solving problems and disputes in international diplomacy. Thus, EurasiaMUN wants to encourage both: the competitive strife of national interests and the co-operation among delegates.

Outstanding Diplomacy Awards will be given to those delegates who best succeed in fulfilling the following criteria:

- Knowledge and representation of the nation’s interests and policies;

- Timely submission of quality position papers;

- Ability to work with other delegates;

- Ability to persuade other delegates about the feasibility of a certain solution;

- Ability to develop creative and pragmatic solutions to the issues at hand;

- Skill and effectiveness in caucusing, amendment and resolution writing, public speaking, and debate.

The Committee Director may at his or her discretion present up to ten percent of delegates with a diplomacy award if several members of the committee have demonstrated outstanding diplomatic skills. The Secretary-General may at his or her discretion present a delegation whose individual members have shown exceptional diplomatic skill and embodied the philosophy of EurasiaMUN in an exemplary fashion with a delegation award.
